NON-BOND FACILITIES PROJECTS

HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING
The new heating and air conditioning Direct Digital Control system is approximately 85 percent complete, and the switch to the automated procedure is scheduled for the end of June. The project includes installation of new thermostats to replace existing devices in classrooms and offices.

Startup for the central air conditioning chiller, set for April 15, will allow the contractor, Viron, to begin the process of providing A/C to all permanent campus buildings. After all the controls are checked and adjusted, structures are expected to have both heating and air conditioning. Any temperature control issues will be addressed in May and June.

OUTDOOR LIGHTING
Installation of 110 new 10-foot light poles is underway and should be complete by mid-May. Approximately 50 exterior wall-mounted light fixtures have been retrofitted in the bungalow areas, and all light fixtures in the arcades have been replaced.

INDOOR LIGHTING
Replacement of indoor lighting fixtures is 95 percent complete. The existing light fixtures in the North and South Gym basketball areas and the underground tunnel are expected to be finished by May. Approximately 5 wall-mounted light fixtures have been replaced in the North Gym building.

CEILING REPLACEMENTS
Major ceiling construction projects in the Campus Center, North and South Gyms, and the Administration building are complete, but some modifications may be necessary after inspections are reviewed. Additional construction may be scheduled during evening hours this spring. The Campus Center lower level hallway ceiling replacement project is ongoing, as Viron and other contractors conduct construction assessments in order to finish the task as soon as possible.
